The model 158 has a chute and does not have the cyclone option so we attached a dust bag to the
blower output. The photo with the label dust bag was the size of the material going into the dust bag
through that blower output. The other samples exited the hammer mill through the chute output. With the
model 198 and model 420 hammer mills, this chute output is usually closed off and all of the material
goes through the blower and up into the cyclone and all the material exits the bottom of the cyclone.


We then ran this material through our 9" 2-Roller 10hp 220v Three Phase Pellet Mill.

The model 158 has a discharge chute and does not have the cyclone option so we attached a dust bag
to the blower output. If the discharge chute is closed, all the material goes into the dust bag. If the chute
Is open, the material is discharged through the chute. Only the very small material goes into the dust bag.
The model 198 and model 420 hammer mills, this chute output is usually closed off and all of the material
goes through the blower and up into the cyclone and all the material exits the bottom of the cyclone.

The model 158 was not able to process the damp/wet wood bedding with the 2mm screen.
Initially, it was working, but after a gallon or so of material, the 2mm screen clogged.
We changed to a 6mm screen and achieved positive results with the larger screen.
The model 158 was then able to process the damp/wet wood bedding continually.

This concrete was a combination of very fine particles combined
with some concrete that was hard/clumpy due to exposure to moisture.

*The low moisture content of the material resulted in creating a lot of dust so a dust bag was used.
The last photo is the dust in bag on top of the cyclone used to collect the dust that usually is blown into the air.

Model 198 Hammer Mill. The Model 420 Hammer Mill would be over 200 pounds per hour at 13% moisture.
Nothing had been extracted from this material prior to the Hammer Mill processing.

Because Magnesium Chloride absorbs moisture so fast, the end material started
to clump up soon after we ran it and the machine collected water where the material was.

Because the Solid Surface material is so hard, there is blowback.
We ran this sample with the flow gate removed from the hammer mill feed tray.

Solid surface is a man-made material usually composed of a combination of
alumina trihydrate (ATH), acrylic, epoxy or polyester resins and pigments.
It is most frequently used for seamless counter top installations.

Because the plastic shotgun shells are so hard, there is blowback.
We ran this sample with the flow gate removed from the hammer mill feed tray.
Hammer milling this plastic decreased the volume by over 65% from 1 gallon to 1/3 gallon.
